We would also like to purchase a well restored, GEM MINT, red GTO vehicle and a travel home!
We currently own a Cadillac CTS-"V", with an LSA 6.2 liter engine that was upgraded to 640 H.P.
from its 565 H.P. factory installed engine that GM also put into the "ZR1 CORVETTE".
The Cadillac does 0 - 60 MPH in 3.4 seconds and has a top end speed of ....225 MPH!
(this is the same car that JAY LENO uses as his daily driver)
and a Nissan Murano Cross Cabriolet Convertible that is the first AWD --->convertible in the world,
and a 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Super Sport, 2 door Coupe.
Some folks have e-mailed me asking me about my day and how it all goes and how I arrived at this position. In an effort to answer
those questions, I am offering the following explanation. This explanation is an honest representation of the facts.

First of all, I decided many decades ago to DESIGN my life. That for me, meant to create my own jobs and my own future days.

This would require that I not work for a company that would require an 80 hour week! Many companies give LIP SERVICE to employees having
WORK - LIFE balance. Then they feed you a BLACKBERRY and expect you to have super fast inter-net service so when you leave work...
you are working all night...and all weekend. That prospect that I foresaw did NOT work for me! It does work for my wife...so in that respect we ARE different.

I married a past Piano student of mine and in those early days...I believe she made about 29-32 K per year.
Those were difficult times even though prices were much lower
on all items including housing. In her condo she owned a metal fold out table which was her kitchen table...borrowed from a friend. We can laugh now
looking back on that time and that table. She did own a condominium...an end unit in Ellington...so housing was covered. This was our very humble beginning.

With  the many decisions that I made...based on her requests from me for how to proceed to get to an Executive position...she left the I.R.S. which she would
NEVER have done without my support in her life and  she went to  the F.D.I.C. and became their Northeast Regional Human Resource Manager...and her salary
began to climb. Then it was off to
Pratt and Whitney for more possibilities for advancement. They also would pay for a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management...which was  acquired with a
4.0!

Taking the position at Pratt and Whitney actually involved a 5k pay cut for my wife but the opportunities were vast due to its many divisions
and it offered the added benefit of being a TOP 40 FORTUNE COMPANY...which is always good on a resume in America.
Her salary has climbed dramatically over the years...and lets just say...29K....her original salary makes us grin whenever we look back.
This helping of my wife along the way has paid off rather handsomely for me. This has allowed us....to  be able to design my life.

With that designing process...came a home in South Windsor, top end vehicles, the Grand Piano, the ability to NOT ever have to work
for a different company other than the ones that I form and build, endless top end credit lines, classic cars, some of the rarest collectibles in the world,
a home with two theatres...and the best of everything. But, remember...we started out without a silver spoon in our mouths...
in those  early days we had dinner on a metal FOLD OUT kitchen table.

My days are very special and most of my work is now done by....10 A.M. and the rest of my day is free to do whatever I want...
7 days a week...all year long.
It is a GIFTED life....and I KNOW how blessed that I am,  but I do take credit that I set this up...tthat I put this all in motion decades ago. That I DESIGNED this life.
I had to make it happen...it wasn't just given to me...so here is my day...plainly spoken..honestly given...freely given.

I get up every morning at about 5 A.M.
Shower. shave...dress. I have breakfast...some mornings...two eggs on toast...coffee.
IF she hasn't aready left for work before I get done...I KISS ... the wife out the door....en-route to her position at Corporate for United Technologies.
I then sit down at the Piano where I currently work on the memorization of major Rag-time and Novelty Jazz pieces, because I LIKE THEM
and where I write my own pieces and lyrics.

This consumes about 1-3 hours of my time...depending on my mood and what else is scheduled for the day.
I get the mail when it arrives....check my incoming articles. I then insert things into my partial collectibles list at PSA.
I log things into Ebay as received and check for the best upcoming sales and auctions,
and I work on this web-site and by 10 A.M., voila, my day is finished. Tough day...I know!

Lunch at a local restaurant....where I am a regular.

Possibly a trip out to my lake lots in Eastford....or whatever I want the rest of the day.
Shoreline...trip....mountain visit. Anywhere that I want to go!

Dinner with my wife at night....good conversation....some tv....more inter-net activities...investment chat room...
maybe more Piano...depending on what musical ideas have been coming into my head during the day.
I compose music all day long in my head...regardless of what I am doing.
I can hear it...before...I touch a single piano key...and usually I need VERY few changes.

I usually ake time out...to search for more real estate...and that is my day! I often buy collectibles at 1/2 price....entire sets...whatever.
These purchases should pay off our CORPORATE location in 60 months.

It is a GREAT LIFE...designed by the best person that I know.
GEM, President of GEMCOMcompanies.com

P.S.-- I want to add something in here...for your amusement.
My father insisted that my sister and I take Dance lessons as a child and we became very good at it...so much so, that the Traveler's
Insurance Company added us to their venues for their traveling troupe of performers...the only children on those buses.

Dad also insisted that we perform on a musical instrument as
my father loved music and played the Piano. When my teacher went to $2.50...that is right....$2.50 for an Accordion lesson , well,
dad was very upset because that was a .25 a lesson raise. He thought that was usurious! We got through it...because he loved
music and wanted us to have that in our lives. Those accordion lessons from John Caruso in Windsor, Ct...
led to ME choosing Piano later in life...led to my own
Music Store....led to a student calling for Piano Lessons from my sign in front of my home in South Windsor on Ellington Road.
This turned into dating...her asking ME to MARRY HER....and to her current salary...200+K a year added to mine!
When I think back to Dad being UPSET at paying $2.50 for an Accordion lesson...and then see my wife's bi-weekly checks...well...
though he has passed away....he would be very proud...of himself! This was money that was well spent. So, when parents ask me,
"What do music lessons do for you?", ....I don't know how to answer them...without grinning from ear to ear!
Apart from all the other benefits of music in your life...there apparently can be...many other wonderful benefits.
You tell me...what is  the rate of return on a $2.50 Accordion lesson versus MILLIONS OF DOLLARS worth of added income
to YOUR LIFE? By the way, the sign that I "designed"  and that was bought to put out in front of my home that brought my wife to me
....cost me..
$50!  It was a simple sign..it said...PIANO LESSONS! Dad would be proud...of money well spent. Personally, he would have thought that
I PAID TOO MUCH FOR THE SIGN!  SMILE>>>GRIN>>>WINK....

I am heading out to my NEW,  LAKEFRONT LOTS on LAKE ASHFORD....to "DESIGN"....remember that word,
THE ENTIRE PLACE which will be one of my future VACATION hideouts...and I am heading out there in my new,
Cadillac CTS, V.....with 640 H.P. under its hood... the same daily driver
that JAY LENO drives... and all the way out there...I will reflect on ..a fold out kitchen table,
struggling to carry that very heavy 120 BASS ACCORDION to the lessons,
a $50 PIANO LESSON sign and a beautiful woman that asked ME one afternoon to marry her.
I made her wait ...for my answer...because you will know that the right woman has arrived when you make her wait...
because as the silence grows...as the moments pass...a tear forms in her eye...and then you know...that,  YES...is the right answer!
Make sure that you find the right woman...design that tear!   Design...a great life!

But, first...it is off to my lunch restaurant to say hello to, Arnie. A simple, quiet fellow...who always says, "hello!"

Design YOUR LIFE...it is the best gift you can give yourself.  And this should more than answer the many questions
that I get in e-mails. It is an honest representation of the facts of my life.
When others tell you that your dreams are "IMPOSSIBLE"...remember..."I'm POSSIBLE!"

WE NOW WELCOME in  MAY, 2014! Hopefully...it will bring with it much warmer
weather and  some boating and swimming on the LAKE!

Warmly, Mr. Moffatt, President of the companies of GEMCOMcompanies.com
I gave the car a NAME...yes, I did!
